YTEPP Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding to be a member of The National Incubator Council. This primarily is to support entrepreneurship in Trinidad and Tobago.
From start up to growth to success. YTEPP joins Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, The University of Trinidad and Tobago, The National Training Agency and The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago.
Residents of Cashew Gardens, Carlsen Field were selected for implementation of a pilot project in Micro Entrepreneurship training. Twenty-three (23) persons in the community participated in the four (4) day training programme that was conducted by the Land Settlement Agency (LSA), in collaboration with YTEPP Limited.
Ms. Leela Toorcana, spokesperson for YTEPP said that the recently completed workshop was tailored to provide a comprehensive overview on steps to be taken in setting up and operating a microenterprise.
She said, “The course focused on the development of a business plan and covered a number of key areas including: Marketing Management, Financial Management, Legal Issues and Business Planning.
The International Labour Office (ILO) business game was one of the major highlights of the workshop as it gave residents an opportunity to experience some of the challenges and real life situations that they may encounter as small business owners.”
Ms. Toorcana further expressed that the programme would be taken to other communities in the future.”
